One of the most common questions I hear as a Brampton engagement photographer is: "What should we wear?" Here is the advice I give every couple.
Coordinate, Don't Match
You do not need to wear matching outfits. Instead, choose colours and tones that complement each other — for example, one partner in a soft neutral and the other in a deeper, complementary shade.
Think About Your Location
If we are shooting somewhere natural and green, like a Brampton park or trail, earthy tones and soft fabrics photograph beautifully. For a more urban location, structured, slightly dressier outfits tend to work well.
Bring a Second Outfit
If your package includes an outfit change, bring one more casual and one slightly dressier option. This gives your gallery some visual variety.
Avoid Busy Patterns and Logos
Large logos, busy patterns, and neon colours tend to distract from the two of you. Solid colours and subtle textures photograph much better.
Dress for the Season
Brampton engagement sessions happen year-round. In cooler months, layer with jackets, scarves, or blankets that you can remove for some shots and use as styling props in others.
Comfort Matters
Choose shoes and outfits you can comfortably walk and move in — genuine, relaxed body language always photographs better than stiff posing in uncomfortable clothing.
